On Saturday, February 6, 2021, Burners Without Borders and Alight are kicking off Pedacito de la Tierra (A Little Piece of Home), a global movement to create sustainable spaces of hope and refuge for people experiencing migration, beginning at the U.S./Mexico border.
You’re invited to virtually join our global, decentralized table alongside community members gathered in Nogales, Sonora for a meal, a film premiere, and conversation about cultivating belonging in our own homes and across borders and cultures.
Together we will:
Share in meaningful conversation with people on their migration journey, world-renowned architect Ron Rael, and Alight collaborators.
Cook a recipe shared from the migrant community, led by globally-recognized Chef Charles Michel
View the world premiere screening of the short film, “Pedacito de la Tierra”, inspired by the people and places at the heart of this initiative.
