LAGI Design Challenge Results: Prototyping a Sustainable Future

For the past two years we’ve collaborated with the Land Art Generator Initiative (LAGI) on the Fly Ranch design challenge, LAGI 2020. In March we concluded the voting process. The selected projects offer examples of how to live in sync with nature focusing on food, power, water, shelter, and waste. In this call, we’ll talk to LAGI jurors, projects that got the most votes from jurors, and BRC sustainability team members about their reflections and advice.

Schedule of Events:
Act 1 - Introduction & Sustainability Goals (12-12:30)
Laura Day, BRC Associate Director, will share with us about Burning Man Project’s Sustainability Goals and how LAGI relates.
Autumn Harry, LAGI Juror, will tell us about her Pooenadu Gardening Program ('green foods') at Kooyooe Pa'a Panunadu, also known as Pyramid Lake. If you want to sponsor a box, each planter box costs around $100 to make and you can donate to @AutumnHarry on Venmo or PayPal. We pass through and work on Numu (Northern Paiute) land in Pyramid Lake and the Black Rock Desert. This is a good way to support an important project in their community.

We will conclude with an invitation to get involved. Anyone who would like to support projects is invited to comment on the LAGI 2020 Fly Ranch site, offer advice, and volunteer to help.
