Fly Ranch Fall Harvest Party & Art Build Week

You’re invited to a Fly Ranch Fall Harvest Party, Art Build Week, and Friends & Family gathering!

This is a chance to gather on the Hualapai Flat, soak in the hot springs, hike, build, plant, create, and spend time together. This is a simple, rough-n-tumble, self-reliant, do-it-yourself, 10 Principles-based campout.

There will be teams on-site working to install different art pieces:

• Fire Circle


• Elemental Dragon


• Larry’s Grove


• The Bone Tree


• Paradisium


• A site specific installation made with cattails on site

You are also invited to help harvest vegetables and work in the garden, where more than 50 types of vegetables, herbs, and edible plants are growing.

What to Expect

• Hikes, wildflower planting, art projects, and a light schedule


• Group tent, chill zones, hot springs, and stargazing


• Contributions, talks, activities, and workshops by participants


• Time to relax, connect, and contribute however feels right

• You bring: shelter, food, water, and camping gear (and a bike if you’ve got one!)


• We provide: toilets, hand wash stations, communal space, and a burn


• No pets, fireworks, rogue amplified sound, or generators

⏳ We invite you to attend the duration, and it's ok if you can't make the whole time. We have received an Outdoor Community Event Permit for this event.

You are welcome to invite at least two guests. Please prepare your guests for the experience and check with hosts if bringing more than two. Please plan to arrive during daylight hours so we can help you land.

Sliding Scale Tickets: $100, $250, $500, $1000, $2,500, and $5,000 sliding scale. Every little bit helps us grow and build Fly.

Invited groups include: 2,500 Fly Stewards, Burning Man Regional Contacts, Burning Man Regional Event Producers, BMP Staff & Board, leads or designate for 41 BWB Chapters & 8 Projects, BRC Theme Camps, Mutant Vehicles, Art Projects.

FAQ: Kids & Families

Are kids welcome at the event?

Yes! We welcome families and genuinely value having multiple generations present at the gathering. We believe the event feels richer when elders, adults, youth, and children all help shape the community together. If you are planning to bring children, please email [email protected] to let us know the number of children and their ages.

Are kids free?

Children 12 and under are welcome free of charge. (Please just let us know if you have children who will be joining)

Is the event designed specifically for children?

Not exactly. The event is a participatory, community-driven gathering rather than a programmed family camp. While there are often family-friendly activities, nature exploration, art, workshops, and opportunities for connection, there is not dedicated childcare or structured children’s programming throughout the event (unless you create it!).

What should parents know before attending?

Fly Ranch is a remote, off-grid environment. Families should come prepared for:

• Heat, dust, wind, and rapidly changing weather


• Uneven terrain and natural geothermal features


• Limited shade and limited cell service


• Shared community spaces with activity happening throughout the day and evening


• A highly participatory environment where parents remain responsible for supervising and supporting their children at all times

Are there any content or environmental considerations?

Yes. Fly Ranch and the event operate within Burner culture and community norms. Some spaces, including soaking areas near the hot springs and sauna, are clothing optional. Programming is community-generated and may include a wide range of conversations, music, art, and experiences.

Can families volunteer or participate?

Absolutely. Families are encouraged to participate in the collaborative spirit of the gathering — whether through volunteering, sharing skills, helping care for communal spaces, or offering activities and contributions to the community.

Is Fly Ranch safe for children?

Parents should understand that Fly Ranch is a rugged natural environment, not a traditional campground or resort. Children should be supervised closely, especially around geothermal areas, roads, wildlife, and shared infrastructure.

Should we bring kids?

Many families have had deeply meaningful experiences at Fly Ranch together. Overall, the event tends to work best for families who enjoy collaborative, creative, nature-based, and self-reliant environments and who are comfortable participating actively in community life.

FAQ: Dogs & Animal Friends

Due to the nature of the environment and the scale of the gathering, we maintain fairly firm boundaries around guest animals onsite, including emotional support animals (ESAs).

Fly Ranch can be an extremely rugged and overstimulating environment for dogs, including:

• Heat, dust, and limited shade


• Geothermal features and wildlife


• Unpredictable sound and large numbers of participants moving through shared spaces at all hours


• An increasingly family-friendly environment with more children on-site

In addition, we have unfortunately experienced several difficult situations involving guest dogs at past events. As a result, animals onsite are generally limited to:

• Licensed service animals


• Dogs belonging to core staff operating in specific roles

This policy is intended to support the safety and well-being of participants, children, staff, wildlife, and animals alike. In most cases, we genuinely believe Fly Ranch is not an ideal environment for guest dogs.

FAQ: Shared Infrastructure

Toilets

The Event uses waterless toilets provided by Ecozoic Resources — innovative biofilter systems that transform organic waste into compostable material rather than relying on water, sewage hookups, or chemical treatment. They've worked extensively with BWB & Fly Ranch both at Burning Man and past events and are a natural fit for our land stewardship values. Please treat them with care — they're part of how we keep our footprint light on the land, and you'll love the experience.

Solar Power

Fly Ranch is a fossil-fuel-free, generator-free site. Our power comes from a larger solar array and several solar trailers, generously provided by the Black Rock City Solar Team. These are distributed across the event site and are primarily dedicated to production needs — lighting, sound, the Community Hearth, and shared infrastructure.

Limited charging stations will be available for personal devices. Consider bringing a personal power bank you can charge up and bring to your own personal space.

Community Shade

The Nevada high desert can mean serious sun. We'll have community shade structures on site, generously provided by our friends at Shade Shifters. These are shared spaces for workshops, gatherings, rest, and refuge — use them, linger in them, and help keep them welcoming for everyone.
