ArtSpeaks is Burning Man’s new artist storytelling series that explores never-before-told stories behind your favorite past and future BRC artworks, and shares what those artists are up to now – including sneak peeks into their studios, building processes, and inspirations. 

Have you ever been stranded in a scorching dust storm, wishing for relief, only to have the dust settle and reveal an ice cream cart? Did you run into your long-lost childhood best friend while experiencing an already magical sunrise on an art installation? Or lose your most-favorite-playa-item and have it mysteriously find its way back to you?

These are all moments of what we call Playa Magic. In this episode of ArtSpeaks, we’ll get to hear from artists who have experienced their own serendipitous encounters while building art in the Black Rock Desert. Join us to hear their tales and to reminisce about your own moments of spectral surprise and dusty delight – ones that seem to happen so often when we’re all together at Burning Man.
